Are you looking for an effective way of sharing information? Do
you want to use the Internet to promote and sell a product or
service? These are some of the things you can do with a web site,
whether you're a business person or a guy or girl who is about to
get married. Do you have pictures to share? Is there a birth on the
way? Maybe the birth already took place and you want to share that
with the world. Maybe you just got married and you want a way of
sharing the memories. Do you have a hobby? Do you want a way of
sharing tips on a particular subject? If you're a job seeker, why
not display that resume online? If any of these statements and
questions apply to you, then I am extremely interested in helping
you build or maintain a web site. Let me help you
- Improve your image.
- Increase your productivity (have a list of Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQs) on your site).
- Give your business a competitive edge.
- Effectively communicate with your customers.
- Effectively create brand identification.
- Grow as your business grows.
- Significantly reduce business expenses – transaction
fees, mailing expenses, and printing costs.

I can, upon request, set up the web hosting plan and domain name
as well, however, you must agree to take responsibility for web
hosting and domain name registration fees. A domain name is The
"address" or URL of a particular Web site. For example:
johndoe.com. The web host provides the space for the web site. The
amount of material we put on the site is limited only by the space
considerations offered by your Hosting Service. Web hosting and
domain name registration will be handled by a third party, and
you'll be billed monthly. For this reason, I'll need your mailing
address and credit card information. This information will be kept
confidential. If you do not feel comfortable giving that
information to strangers, I'll give you the information you need in
order to fill out any forms and make any purchases that are
required.
This service includes minor webpage maintenance to regular webpages over a six-month period,
including updating links and making minor changes to a sentence or paragraph. It does not include removing nearly all the text from a page and replacing
it with new text. The six-month maintenance period commences when all files are uploaded and payment is received. Changes requested by the client beyond those limits will be billed according to the pricing policy as stated on the
price list.
We will work together to complete the website in a timely manner.
Things to Consider
- Know what you want to get across.
- The content should be provided in an organized manner. Example:
unformatted plain text files organized by page and section sent
either in the body of an email message or as a single email
attachment - If you have a detailed brochure, I might be able to
work from that.
- As stated at Beast-Blog.com, the site needs to be promoted. For
this reason, I will ask you to provide a list of keywords and
phrases, ... for the purpose of defining how you want your site to
be found. - What do you think potential visitors will be typing
into search fields?
- Please provide all graphics, and communicate, to the best of
your ability, where you want each image placed. There are several
ways of incorporating graphics into web documents. I'll discuss
some of them here.
- Images that are part of the essential content of a document,
just like the text. For example, photographs on a news site.
- Purely decorative images that are part of the styling of the
document. For example, background patterns, fancy bullets for
lists, wavy borders.
- Images depicting text. Ideally, text should never be depicted
using images, partly because such text may prove hard to read for
people with color-blindness or other visual impairments.
Before the work can begin
I'll need the following information:
- Name:
- Is this the best email address to use?
- Phone, [if you live in the United States]:
- Best time to call you, [if I need to do so]:
- Will regular, ongoing updates be required?
When testing my work, I will ask myself the following questions.
-
Are links labeled so that they are read by a screen reader? Do they function properly when worked with from the keyboard?
-
Do the pages on the site have headings that are coded as headings that, when a screen reader user comes across the page, they can
be moved to by pressing a key? for example, on a college's web site, after the navigation links,
is there a heading such as Student Affairs, or, on a registration page something like Registration Process?
-
When I, as a visually impaired computer user, read a table with my screen reader's table navigation commands, are columns and rows read correctly?
-
When I, as a visually impaired computer user, come across a combo box, Am I able to move through it with my screen reader?
-
Does a page take a long time to load?
-
Are there other controls on the page? If so, are they clearly labeled?
Web hosting service recommendations will be based on the following.
-
Does a domain name come with the package? If not, can I purchase one through this provider?
-
How much disk space will I get?
-
Will I be able to set up at least one email account?
-
Will I be able to send and receive email?
-
How long will the account activation process take?
-
What billing options are available?
-
How manageable will the content be once it has been uploaded?
