Christopher is a musician, composer/arranger, and producer currently living in Mount Vernon, NY. He was born blind on June 13, 1980. He graduated cum laude from SUNY Purchase College in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Music in Studio Composition. He studied with a number of professionals, including Allyson Bellink, David Sherman, David Gluck, and Jim McElwaine. He has been playing the piano since 1988 and the drums since 1990. He has composed in a variety of styles including classical, pop, jingles, and short film pieces. He has composed for a number of individuals, including Rick Harmon, [of the Blind Geek Zone podcast], A number of his pieces were written either before or after his time at Purchase College. He has performed at various events, since 1989, including a student run Film Festival at Purchase College and the All Islands Association Scholarship Luncheon, which was held at an off-campus location. As a volunteer at Beth Abraham Nursing Home, he performed for the residents. He also worked at the Mount Vernon YMCA as a Music Counselor entertaining the children. In addition, he gained experience in audio editing at WVOX, a radio station in Westchester. He performed with the school band at one of his previous schools, the New York Institute for Special Education. He also participated in a Summer Music Institute, for visually impaired students who plan to study music in college. At Westchester Community College, where he took classes before transferring to Purchase, he tutored a beginning piano student who was having difficulties, mainly with note values, such as whole notes, half notes, etc. Music aside, Mr. Wright participated in various activities, such as the New York Institute's wrestling and track and field teams, and various summer jobs and/or internships including jobs at vending stands. While he attended the New York Institute, he also participated in Student Council activities such as the Trip committee, and the School Spirit Committee. He was also a student council class representative for a year. On Sundays, and sometimes on Fridays, he can be found at Bethesda Baptist Church, which has been his church home for several years. His career goals are to compose, arrange, perform and produce music. He wants to work with people in the music field and people outside the music field. He also wants to get into freelance web design. He currently manages Allison Mervis's web site. Allison is a singer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Christopher believes that his relationship with his Lord and Savior, his education, his experience and his career aspirations will carry him through life. He believes that his visual impairment is not a valid reason why he can't achieve the goals he sets for himself. He believes that he will be able to master any challenges that are placed before him.
